The NBL Semifinals are set to tip off on Tuesday 16th September with 2 games in action.
The men shall be playing the semifinals first as the Ladies have some players representing Uganda at the 3x3 U23 World Cup in China.
The Namuwongo Blazers shall be taking on the UCU Canons in the opening game of the day.
The Canons were the first team to hand the Nam Blazers an advance loss this season. Additionally, they defeated them in the 3rd place game in the 2024 season.
Namuwongo Blazers will have a score to settle.
Their goal, since the start of the season, is to be the champions but they have to go through the UCU Canons.
During the quarter-finals, UCU came from 1-0 down to defeat the Kampala Rockets 2-1 and advance.
Most importantly, in games 2 and 3, they dominated winning by a combined margin of 53 points.
On the other, the Blazers defeated the Rezlife Saints 2-0 to advance.
Game one was low scoring, ending 54-41 but in game 2, the Blazers sunk 11 3-point shots and won 76-61.
Sommet swept the KCCA Panthers and they dominated both games winning with a margin of 27 points.
Frank Fataki was unstoppable as he delivered big double doubles in both games.
The Oilers had to fight against a tough JT Jaguars side but they managed to get the job done with a sweep.
Game 2 ended In a 2-point victory but with how close the game was, it could have gone either way. All these 4 teams will be looking to take the lead in the series.
